For many airlines the frequent flyer programme is a major source of ancillary revenue. Airline balance sheets have significant values set aside in respect to frequent flyer miles owed to the customer base
While most vendors concentrate on the marketing operation of the loyalty program ASI has the expertise to check whether the loyalty scheme is accounting correctly for mileage usage, refunds and exchanges. ASI will identify areas of revenue leakage in the FFP process
ASI will check to determine whether exchanges and refunds are correctly reflected in the FFP account. ASI will also check the accuracy of billing rates for frequent flyer miles between airlines and ensure that associated ticket taxes are accounted for correctly.
The process is simple – send ASI the transaction file for a three month period and ASI will check against ticket sales data and airline partner IS-IDEC billing files.
